SQl server cluster question

I never installed cluster before, but we do have two existing cluster nodes of SQL servers that were intalled before.

I see the server name and cluster name are different.

Is that supposed to be that way?

For example the two server names are  MyServerCluster1, the other server name is MyServerCluster2.

But when I connect to the nodes using SSMS, I have to use diffrent names for it, myprodSQL, myQASQL.

And I tried to use servername to connect, I cannot connect to them.

So does it mean the nodes name are diffrent with servername, and when connecting, we have to use nodes name?
